Course Description:
This course is designed to develop reasoning and problem solving skills for topics such as congruence and similarity, and applying properties of lines, triangles, quadralaterals, and circles. Students will develop problem solving skills by using length, perimeter, area, circumference, surface area, and volume to solve real-world problems.
Materials needed:
Grading Policy:
Semester grades will consist of the following:
Major Grades (Tests, Quizzes, Portfolio Projects, etc.) ------------90%
Minor Grades (Homework, Participation, etc.)-----------------------10%
Progress reports will be handed out approximately every two weeks, and grades will be updated weekly on TeacherEase.
Major Grades (Re-Test Policy)
You are strongly encouraged to re-take any assessment that you received less than a 70% on. You must complete at least 50% of your homework prior to meeting with me to re-teach a unit. You have one week after a test is returned to turn in a Request to Retest sheet, which starts the re-take process. You have to have a student-teacher conference to discuss what you need to focus on or topic that you need to work on for additional practice. When you retake a test, you can earn up to 70%, but not above that. If you recieve between a 70%-100% on the reake, your final grade will be a 70%.
Cheating/Plagiarism: To use someone else's work and claim it as your own or to offer your work to someone else reflects a lack of respect and confidence in yourself and the other person. Cheating is not acceptable and will be dealt with harshly as outlined in the handbook.
The teacher reserves the right to make any revisions to this syllabus. If such changes become necessary, students will be notified immediately.

- Graph paper
- Graphing Calculator (TI83+)
- Pencils
- 1 Box of Kleenex
